Intermediate STARSkate

Intermediate STARSkate (Star 1&2) is designed to give skaters a chance to develop fundamental figure skating skills.  It runs beginning of September into March, with some opportunities to skate in the spring and summer. It is designed to fit with Sport Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) characteristics. The Kamloops Skate Club (KSC), is a Skate Canada affiliated club. Intermediate STARSkate has been designed as the first step of the STARSkate program. It is designed to fit with Sport Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) characteristics.  Intermediate STARSkate is for skaters who have progressed through Junior Academy and ready for new challenges of the STARSkate program. This is the level where skaters can enjoy semi-private and private lessons, in addition to the group lessons at an additional feeSkaters will be working on their Star 1 & 2  skills and may choose to be tested and compete in competitions at the Star 1&2 level. Skaters will work on skating programs in STAR 2 level as a group. Intermediate runs for an hour with some overlap with Junior Academy three times per week, and then they are welcome to skate on Open STARSkate ice as well. This will let them get used to skating with the Senior STARSkaters. Skater’s can book private lessons during the independent portion of the skating time.
