STARSkate is a program designed to develop fundamental figure skating skills, in all areas of figures skating: Ice Dance, Skating Skills, Free Skate and Interpretive Skating. This can involve group lessons and/or private lessons. Skaters have the option to be tested by a nationally standardized testing system. In our club this season (2017/18) STARSkate ice will be Skaters Star 2 and above, unless other arrangements have been made. Skaters will have the option of purchasing a “lite” or “full” package for skating. Our full package will include all available StarSkate ice (refer to the regular season schedule) and our lite package will include 1 or 1.5 hrs of ice time per week. There will be scheduled group lessons during Monday-Thursday STARSkate sessions and private/semi-private lessons should be booked if desired. Our STARSkate program ice fees include a Monday night dance class, Friday Dryland Training, Sport Psychology Seminars with Dave Freeze and a additional fitness component for skaters that participate in the “full” package. Skaters will have the opportunity to take Skate Canada tests and compete in interclub and invitational competitions throughout the year.
